Master the craft
Learn the art of fixing a bike.
We have over ten years of experience in delivering free bicycle mechanic courses for young people in various disadvantaged areas across north London. Our course is delivered to the highest standard and accredited by City & Guilds (C&G).
A practical skill
With most of our young people having experienced some disadvantage in their lives, our course enables them to learn a range of practical, life enhancing new skills. Engaging with positive role models, they learn how to conduct themselves in a workshop. We deliver the project in such a way as to ensure they make new friends, boost their self-esteem and improve their prosocial behaviour. We create a friendly, understanding environment with a high staff ratio to best support the learners. We take the time to recruit the right staff and train them in how to get the best out of our young people.
We have been able to provide work opportunities for the over 16’s who have performed well on our courses, and they have gone on to help and support the younger people in the community.
Available to all
Our mobile workshop travels to several youth centres, supporting young people from the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, many young people still struggle to travel safely beyond the area they live so by taking our workshop to those estates and centres, we are able to widen the range of young people we work with. Estates and centres we have travelled to include Rose Bowl Youth Centre, Andover Estate, the YMCA, Queens Crescent Community Centre and many more.
