DUE TO THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, WE HAVE UNFORTUNATELY HAD TO PAUSE OUR BIKE MAINTENANCE SESSIONS. WE HOPE TO RESUME OUR COURSES AS SOON AS THE GUIDANCE ALLOWS.
PLEASE FOLLOW OUR SOCIAL MEDIA FOR MORE UPDATES. DURING THE LOCKDOWN, WE WILL STILL BE FINDING NEW AND INNOVATIVE WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR YOUNG PEOPLE.
YES Outdoors offers free bike maintenance courses for young people in North London. The courses usually take place in the afternoon after school, and run for 5 days. Upon completion of the course, each participant receives a free bicycle to take home.
The course focusses on boosting self-confidence, by teaching a new skillset and thereby improving employment prospects through a series of practical workshops.
Yes. We welcome everyone, no matter your experience level. In fact, most of our students have no previous knowledge of bike maintenance. We also work with disability-friendly venues to ensure everyone can get involved.
No! We will provide everything you need, including a bicycle to work on, and all the tools and guidance you need.
It’s absolutely free. There are no hidden charges whatsoever.
We typically cater for young people aged 12-17 years old. However, if you don’t quite fall into those brackets, get in touch anyway and we’ll always do our best to accommodate you.
You heard correctly. Upon completion of the course, you will be given a free road-worthy bicycle that’s yours to keep. However, we do reward attendance and effort, and those who show the best attitude in these areas shall be given first priority on which bike they want to keep.
