Targeted Tutoring & Homework Club

Going the extra mile

Recognising and responding to need.

Our Targeted Tutoring and Homework Club was established in 2019 as a direct result of our Youth Advisory Board identifying a need for the project.

We provide tutoring and help with homework to disadvantaged secondary school pupils free of charge. The project takes place after-school at a local youth centre in Camden during term time.

The sessions provide a positive learning environment with individual support from our friendly and professional tutor. We also offer young people access to a range of technology to complete their work.

In 2021 we were awarded an NRCSE Quality Mark to demonstrate that our supplementary school provides safe and effective provision.

Since the pandemic, our project is more vital than ever, since the disruption to schooling has disproportionately impacted the learning and development of disadvantaged young people.

The project enables young people to interact with positive role-models and gain a sense of achievement. Feedback has highlighted that the sessions have helped them to stay motivated, develop good study habits, and increased their confidence.

We also encourage young people to take part in other activities available at the youth centre afterwards, such as the youth club.
